The Ultimate
Summer Bucket List

June 21 marks the official start of summer! Longer days and warmer weather deserve the best memories, so it’s important to make the most of every moment. Luckily, we’re sharing our bucket list for the season that highlights our favorite activities, all made sweeter with the company of family and friends. Here’s to an unforgettable summer!

01

go kayaking

If you’re looking for a way to take in great views and fit in a fun workout, gathering a group of friends for a few hours on the water is always a great idea. Pack a lunch and spend the afternoon in the sunshine with good company.

02

attend an outdoor concert

Live music and beautiful weather go hand in hand. Whether you join the super-fans in the front row, or opt to lay blankets out on the lawn — there’s no such thing as a bad seat at an outdoor concert.

03

visit a local food festival

Festivals combine community and cuisine, creating the best way to grab a bite to eat. Whether you grab an afternoon snack (or two) or plan to have your dinner out and about, switching up your routine is the best way to make new memories.

04

camp out in your own backyard

You can spend a night under the stars without taking a trip out of town. For a little bit of adventure, look no further than spending the evening outdoors in your own backyard (bonus: air conditioning and your own bed are only steps away). Don’t forget to bring the s’mores.

05

catch a movie at the drive-in

Most of the time, the words “summer” and “cozy” don’t quite go together — a definite exception is visiting your local drive-in theater to catch this season’s blockbusters. Pack the car full of blankets and plenty of snacks for the best Saturday night of the summer.

06

spend a weekend at the lake

The best way to unwind during warmer weather? Retreating to the water for a much-needed mini vacation is the epitome of relaxation. Be sure to pack plenty of SPF, your favorite swimsuit and your softest beach towel!

07

make homemade lemonade

Lemonade is an absolute must for the dog days of summer! There is nothing more satisfying than an ice cold glass of lemonade after a day soaking up the sun. It only takes a few ingredients — and the best part is that you can create your own signature recipe. We can’t wait to try out one of these unique recipes this summer.

08

take a weekend girls’ road trip

Ready to spend a few days out and about? A quick getaway with your girlfriends is a memorable way to visit that destination that you’ve been wanting to explore. Before you go, read up on our top road trip packing tips .

09

spend a day at an amusement park

Nothing can make you feel the nostalgia of childhood quite like an amusement park. Whether you go for the rides or the sweet treats (no judgment), spending the day at your nearest amusement or water park is guaranteed to be a good time.

10

host a cookout

Festivals and getaway weekends offer opportunities for fantastic food, but sometimes the best meals are prepared at home. Your guests may come for the food, but they’ll stay for the fun games and delightful conversation. Want to really go the extra mile? Spice up your space with fun touches like twinkling lights, and be sure to mix up your new signature lemonade!

Do you still send out Birthday discounts? I didn’t receive mine this year and BD is 7/3.

It’s really sad that it took so long for you to bring out such a beautiful summer print as Shore Thing. I truly love it. But you’ve raised your prices so much that the average working woman can’t afford most of your items. The only way I can afford them is to go to the Outlet and then I find that you don’t send your premium prints to the outlets; you design other prints just for sale in the outlets. Well Vera Bradley, you have lost me as a customer.
